Thank you for reading with your child or having your child read to you at least 20 minutes a night!  You are making a difference in your child’s education!

MARCH
We are continuing to learn important skills that will help your kindergartner be better prepared for first grade.  It is exciting to see the progress being made in all areas of the curriculum.  We have learned 36 sight words, written many stories, mastered addition and subtraction facts, read hundreds of books and studied lots of interesting science facts!  Your children are very brilliant—make sure to ask them lots of questions that they are thrilled to answer for you!

Remember if you are interested in requesting a teacher for next year, Mr. Oldroyd will have the form available on the school website for you to fill out on March 28th.  Your requests will need to be on this specific form that you can copy off and bring to him by April 15th.  It must be on this form.  He will not accept it after April 15th.

Please be aware that last week an older lady in a dark, newer, four-door car tried to give two students from South Elementary some money to get in her car.  It occurred one block east of the school on 400 South.  It has been reported to the police, but we wanted to let parents know.  Please remind your children of the importance of never getting into a car with someone they do not know.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!  THANK YOU!!!
