·      Have them predict what a story will be about.
·      Have them retell the important parts of the story

NEWS
The reading celebration is scheduled for Monday, May 20th.  As a school, we need to read 1,000,000 minutes in order to earn our way to the celebration.  If the students read 1,5000,000 minutes, Mr. Oldroyd has agreed to kiss a pig! Please keep track of the minutes on our own classroom-reading calendar and on the Kite Flight for Reading and Sight calendar.

Mr. Oldroyd will be taking teacher requests for next year the first two weeks of April.  The form to fill out will be on line at that time.

Enjoy your spring break and have a wonderful Easter!

NEWS
Thank you for all you do to help with your child’s education!  I have great parental support and it shows in your child’s progress.  We are practicing subtraction, graphing and interactive reading and writing experiences in our classroom on a daily basis.  We will continue to work hard to be better prepared for first grade.  Please continue to give your child these experiences at home as well.  It is fun to hear them tell about what is going on in their world.  They notice words, numbers, and other fascinating things in your family settings that we have talked about in our classroom as well.

Mr. Oldroyd will be taking teacher requests for next year the first two weeks of April.  The form to fill out will be on line at that time.

Keep the reading minutes coming!  I cannot stress enough the importance of reading to your child and having him/her read to you!  Please keep track of the minutes on the Kite Flight for Reading and Sight calendar as well as on our own classroom-reading calendar.  THANKS!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns and thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me!
