Early Literacy
Idea
After
you read a story to your child, have him/her retell it to you with a beginning,
middle and end.
Remember our reading goal is 15
minutes a night/five nights a week.
Please read to your child and have him/her read to you! This is so important! Thanks for all you do!
News
It has been fun learning about
hexagons, circles, squares, triangles and rectangles and how many vertices they
have.
The students continue to practice their
reading and writing skills and they are becoming quite the little readers and
writers! They can segment and blend words
together and write sentences very well.
A huge thank you to the PTA for the
amazing pirate-themed reading celebration that we were able to participate in! We have the best PTA!
We have been practicing for our program
and are excited to present it to you on Wednesday, May 9th. It will
begin at 6:00 PM. The students need to
be in Sunday dress and meet in the school library at 5:45. Both AM and PM classes will be performing
together.
The last day of school is Wednesday,
May 23rd. All students will
get to meet their first grade teacher for next year on this day. In order for this to happen, we need all
students to attend the morning session of kindergarten including those who
normally attend the PM class. We
will meet from 8:50-10:50. There is no
Extended Day Kindergarten on this day.
