5-9 --SEP Week—Here is the schedule every
day for the week, even on Early Out Wednesday!
8:50-10:50
for AM classes
12:30-2:30
for the PM classes
Early Literacy Idea
Play “I Spy”—select an object in the room and
provide phonics clues to help your child guess what it is. “I spy something that begins with /t/”.
Remember our
reading goal is 15 minutes a night/five night a week. Please read to your child and have him/her
read to you! This is so important! Thanks for all you do!
News
We celebrated our 100th day of school on
Friday! The year is going by very
quickly. Thank you for making it so
enjoyable and for helping your child have a successful year! Reading with your child or having him/her
read to you each night is especially important and makes a big difference in
early literacy skills mastery.
Just another reminder about SEP Week: It is a wonderful opportunity to meet with
each of you and talk about your child’s school experience. I will be sending home SEP papers at the end
of the month with your individual times that we can meet together. Please bring your student with you as we will
be discussing their progress.
We are
continuing to work on addition, as well as number pairs (or bonds) in
math. For example, 3+1=4, 2+2=4, 0+4=4.
We will
start journal writing this week. The
kids are becoming great at segmenting and blending sounds together to form
words. It will be fun to see their
inventive spellings and their creativity as they write.
Have a
wonderful week!
