Early Literacy
Idea
Ask your
child to tell you the difference between non-fiction and fiction books. Read a book or two and have them tell you
which category the book fits in.
Remember our reading goal is 15
minutes a night/five nights a week.
Please read to your child and have him/her read to you! This is so important! Thanks for all you do!
News
We have
been writing in our journals and the students are becoming more and more
skilled in their writing abilities. We
are also focusing on comprehension skills.
Students should be able to answer questions about key details after
listening to a text read aloud as well as be able to express their thoughts,
feelings and ideas clearly.
In math,
we have been working on the numerals 1-19.
We talk about how to decompose the numbers into ten ones and some
further ones.
Have a
great week and please contact me with any questions or concerns.
