Early Literacy Idea
Give your child many
opportunities to discuss and tell stories.
Remember our
reading goal is 15 minutes a night/five night a week. Please read to your child and have him/her
read to you! This is so important! Thanks for all you do!
News
We have
such a great group of students and each child is progressing and contributing
to our class. Thank you for your support
at home.
In
Language Arts, the students are recognizing, isolating, and writing spellings
for short vowel sounds and consonant sounds.
They can distinguish between similarly spelled words by identifying the
sounds of the letters that differ. For
example, peg, pig, pin, pen.
In math,
we are learning about how to make ten when adding on from any given number by
using objects or drawings. We are also
learning how to “compose” a number by using two sets to make that number. For example, seeing ten cubes as eight red
and two blue will prepare students for thinking about 8 + 2 = 10.
The Lost
and Found is accumulating quite a few items.
If your child is missing a coat, jacket, or anything else, please check
the Lost and Found which is located in the small room by the lunchroom. Any items left at the school will be taken to
charity after December 20th.
Enjoy
your week and take care!
