Early Literacy Idea
Have your child retell important
parts of the story. Ask them what
happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story.
Remember our
reading goal is 15 minutes a night/five night a week. Please read to your child and have him/her
read to you! This is so important! Thanks for all you do!
News
The
students are becoming great readers and writers! We will continue to segment and blend sounds
together to make words. We have covered
the following sounds: a, i, o, c, g, n,
h, f, m, d, t, s, v.
We are
learning a lot about the numerals 0-9.
We practice writing each number with symbols and words. For example, each student can say, “I can
write from 0 to 9. I can write the
number 9 and the word nine.” They are also able to identify whether the number
of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of
objects in another group.
As it
starts getting colder, please make sure your child’s name is on his/her coat or
jacket so we don’t loose them.
Thank you
again for your support! As always,
please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
