We have started our second quarter assessing on each of the students.  Addition, subtraction, recognizing and writing numerals from 1-20, recognizing and writing all letters of the alphabet, rhyming, and using a capital, spaces in between words, and a punctuation mark at the end of a sentence will be included in the testing.

NEWS
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE NICE GIFTS, CARDS, AND REMEMBRANCES!  I appreciate your kindness!

Happy New Year!  I hope that you had a relaxing Christmas and a wonderful time with your families!  January will be a great learning month for us in kindergarten.  Your children are progressing nicely.  Thank you for your support at home!  We will be reviewing skills in preparation for the next DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Literacy Skills) Assessment as well as our next Kindergarten Assessment which both will be administered in the next couple of weeks.

Your child will also be bringing home books on their Independent reading level from the School Take Home Library beginning this week.  These are books that they should be able to read on their own with very minimal help.

Thanks again for all you do to help ensure your child is having a successful school experience.  You truly make a difference!

This week we will learn more about December Holidays celebrated in various cultures.  We will celebrate the diversity of holiday traditions celebrated around the world.

Some of you have asked about free websites for your children to use for educational activities.  ABCya!, Starfall and PBS Kids are three possible choices.

Remember to check the Lost and Found for any items you might be missing.  There are several coats, lots of hats and mittens, and various other items on the table located in the front of the building.

Have a wonderful week and please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
